About AHUIXA
AHUIXA, the name derived from the Aztec goddess of running water, was created for those who walk a darker path but refuse to sacrifice quality for style. For a time, the brand was quiet. Life required me to move, to reset, and to find a permanent place to ground my vision. But even in the silence, the work never stopped.
The Process
My process spans borders and countless hours. It starts in the Los Angeles Fashion District, hand-selecting every bolt of material. I look for the rare balance of edgy and smart, wearable comfort that serves as a canvas for the artists I admire, like Nikol King in the Pacific Northwest, whose intricate visions become the foundation for our patterns. By merging my silhouettes with hers, each AHUIXA piece becomes a wearable collaboration—edgy, rare, and intentional.
Once the fabric is sourced and the art is ready, it travels with me to Guadalajara, Mexico, to the hands of my friend and Oaxacan master maker Patricia Chew. We aren't a factory line; we are a collaboration. We spend hours—sometimes days—obsessing over a single pattern, a specific cut, or the precise way an artist's print sits on the body. We work until the garment isn't just "good," but singular.
The Promise
Because we work in small, intentional batches, I am able to personally inspect every single garment before it is packed and sent to you. This is Slow Fashion in its truest form made by a collective of women with an uncompromising standard. When you wear AHUIXA, you are wearing a story of resilience and dedication. We aren't interested in trends; we are interested in permanence. Welcome back to AHUIXA. The journey continues.
